Stacy Kurtz, PsyD, PMH-C, IMH-E
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
I am a licensed clinical psychologist in New York State. I received my undergraduate degrees from the University of Maryland and my masters and doctorate from the American School of Professional Psychology in Washington DC. In addition, I am certified as a Perinatal Mental Health provider through Postpartum Support International (PSI) and endorsed as an Infant Mental Health Clinical Mentor through the New York State Association for Infant Mental Health (NYSAIMH). Most recently, I was the Assistant Director of the Institute for Parenting at Adelphi University on Long Island where I taught graduate courses, supervised trainees, and held clinical responsibilities with families and providers of young children. I am one of a handful of rostered clinicians on Long Island in Child-Parent Psychotherapy, an intervention for families with a child under 5 who has experienced at least one traumatic event. Currently, I continue to provide supervision to graduate psychology students through both the Institute for Parenting and Gordon F. Derner School of Psychology at Adelphi University.

I offer services to women who are struggling with pregnancy-related concerns, from beginning thoughts of starting a family through the postpartum period and early childhood. As a therapist, my approach is psychodynamic and supportive, with a strong belief that the therapeutic relationship should be built on trust, care, and support so that clients can feel comfortable sharing while feeling safe and connected. Therapy is tailored to meet individual needs in effort to make daily activities more manageable while designating weekly time to pause and examine one’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors with a trusted professional.
